Not quite the update I planned for the first proper post in Life of The Wee Derry Prod, but then again, when has anything ever gone to plan with me?
I ended up back in A&E again with the pains I’ve been having.
Given my history, I wasn’t going to completely ignore them. I went in, got my initial observations and vitals checked, and then made the decision to sign myself out rather than settle in for what looked like it could become another very long wait.
Was that the smartest decision? Possibly not.
The pains are still there, and there’s every chance I’ll end up going back. If I do, though, I’m going prepared this time. Phone charger, something to eat, something to read and possibly enough supplies to survive a five-day expedition on an A&E chair.
After everything over the last few years, hospital visits have unfortunately become part of life. But they’ve also taught me something: you can either let the difficult days completely take over, or keep finding something to laugh about while you deal with them.
So today I’m back home, working on the website and trying to get The Wee Derry Prod properly organised.
Tomorrow? Your guess is as good as mine.
Real life. Real stories. Real Derry.
